I strongly agree, this device is quite frustrating for many users.
Hardware is also bad in my opinion. Sorry to say it.
Many complaints happening everywhere.

I use my GTMedia V8 Satfinder and I can scan in all the channels.
I go to Hellobox 8 and I am missing a lot of channels.
Is there a software threshold setting to allow channels through on the Hellobox 8.
This is bad.

It appears that the software writers are too embarrased to stick their heads in here and answer questions.
Open Source seems the only solution to this box.

Can the manufacturers of hellobox make forever server part of hellobox in addition to scam+

I cant see any improvements in the new software.
Except the volume is too loud.
1. Newcamd not updating smartcard.
2. Satellite mostly takes a long time to load.
3. Info is almost impossible to read. Should be straight white. 5 button pushes to get info.
4. The main menu bar has no where enough information on it. (see my previous screen grabs)
5. Blindscan misses a lot of Channels.
6. If you have previous transponder list, blind scan sometimes misses everything on new scan.
7. Some channels scanned in do not show.
8. Net Client shows asterisks instead of IP Addresses, Ports and Usernames.
9. Often when you switch to a different satellite with disceq the satellite does not load.
10. When you change network info you mostly have to repower the box.
11. EPG never works with this software version.
12. Network Settings not saved when updating software.
13. Scan one Satellite and it scans the wrong one and loads the wrong found channels into the the one you wanted to scan.
14. If you put on NIT search it scans nothing.
15. Usually satellite receivers tell you want language audio channels are available. Not this box.
16. When you switch Audio Channels you get no sound until you go off the channel and back to it. Bloody stupid.


Please add to this list when you find problems.
When are these clowns going to get their act together.

Your number nine is my big problem and the seller is trying to worm is way out of warrantying the unit . I am going to go public with all these problems on youtube i have utmost respect for the admins and software writers and the forum members but the seller is a weasel and a cheat.

I think you will find all the problems are dumb software.

The more I play with this box the more problems I find.
What a %$#()# disaster of a software team.. They should go back to software school or get a job cleaning houses.

Stop wasting your time. 8 models keep going to red light, forum is abandoned, limited support, Crypt 8 on line down since a couple of weeks ago, spammer walking around like nothing etc
